Conscious Sedation with Nitrous Oxide or Laughing Gas
Obtained during the care appointment. The patient wears a mask (clown nose) on his face in which he will breathe a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide. This gas acts quickly and helps to relax the patient. The sedation level can be adjusted up or down very quickly. Stress and anxiety are thus controlled during the entire treatment procedure.
The patient remains conscious and can continue to interact with the dentist.
This provides real comfort and, at the end of the procedure, the effects of sedation stop immediately, as it is eliminated fairly quickly. The patient can even drive his or her car again.
For children, they must come accompanied by a parent and the parent must remain present at all times during the procedure in the clinic.
